Proton Films (“we”) is a wedding videography business based in the UK. This page explains what personal information we collect when you enquire or book with us, why we collect it, and your rights over it.
What we collect
- Your names, email address and phone number
- Your wedding date, venue and the details you tell us about your day
- Your package choice, budget, contract and payment records
- Which link or advert brought you to our website
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a call (our legitimate interest in responding to you)
- To prepare your contract, take payments and film and deliver your wedding (to perform our contract with you)
- To keep financial records (a legal obligation)
- To send you news and offers, only if you ticked the box to agree. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We use a few trusted services to run our business, and they store data on our behalf: our website host (Netlify), our database (Supabase), our email service (Resend), and Revolut for payments. If you agree to cookies, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) receives information about your visit to help us measure our adverts.
How long we keep it
If you enquire but don't book, we delete your details after 12 months. If you book with us, we keep your contract and payment records for 6 years, as required for tax purposes.
Your film
We deliver films through a private YouTube link. We may share short clips on our social media and website if your contract allows it. You can ask us to keep your film private.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. You can also object to how we use it. Email us at hello@protonfilmsuk.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
